Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads
Henry David Thoreau
Sometimes when I’m booked for a pet photography session, the owners get a little nervous about location. Their dog could be reactive in public, terrified of a car ride, unsure of new places, or have mobility issues preventing them from leaving their home. So, let me say this loud and clear, for everyone to hear.
Your backyard will do just fine.
A backyard pet session? Yes, please. So many dogs I’ve met over the years are just so much more comfortable in their own home and that translates to a relaxed session. And if you’re worried about your landscaping, or lack thereof (in my case), don’t worry about that either. I’m always able to find places in your home to photograph your sweet pet.
Meet Sunny and Q. They were both rescues from High Country Humane. They were spending time in their foster home when we did these photos as a way to get them some well deserved attention, and it worked! Sweet Q, the shepherd puppy, found a forever home the day after we posted these photos online, and Sunny, well, her foster mom decided that she was already home. Backyard pet session success indeed.

Below are the social media images we made with adoption graphics for Sunny and Q. They are some really cute pups!

I would love to photograph your sweet pet. Call me anytime and we can brainstorm how we can make your pet a superstar in any location!
