Meet July’s Adorable Adoptable Dog, Panda!
I met Mark Markussen, the Adoptions and Outreach Director, last week at Second Chance Center for Animals in Flagstaff and he introduced me to handsome Panda. Panda is only about 2 years old, but he’s been looking for his forever home for a long time. He originally is from the Yavapai Humane Society and when he was on the euthanasia list, the two organizations worked together to give him a better chance of finding his perfect family by transferring him to the Flagstaff organization. Panda lost his family when they moved to a place that didn’t accept pets. And, Panda wants nothing more than to find his own forever family where he can feel secure and loved once again.
Panda’s been working with a trainer at Second Chance and she absolutely adores him. She says that his perfect owner would be someone that would understand his initial shyness and give him calm and positive energy. She also said that his owner should carry sunscreen so they can give Panda a good coating on his sweet nose that is susceptible to sunburn.
While at the shelter, Panda has learned to sit, shake, lie down and roll over! He’s very good on leash and is very good off leash as well. Like most dogs, Panda loves the outdoors and loves hikes, but he also loves to cuddle on the couch.
