Samantha and Stephen’s Mountain top Wedding at The Little Nell {Aspen Wedding Photography}

Samantha and Stephen were married in Aspen, Colorado at The Little Nell’s famous Sun Deck.  I can’t imagine a more spectacular setting for a wedding.  I remember getting off the gondola and simply just starting at the 180 degree view of the Rocky Mountains.  It was spectacular.  There is a reason that this  mountain range inspired many poets and songwriters.  Looking out, I felt so small, and yet, so inspired.  I looked over to see Kristen, and she just nodded in agreement.  There really are no words, so I hope our photos do it justice.

Samantha got ready at the bottom of the mountain, at The Little Nell resort.  Her makeup artist, from Full Circle, had just spend a weekend with Kevin Costner as his personal makeup artist for a documentary he was filming.  Being one of his biggest fans, I was happy to hear he was gracious and endearing.  The pearls you see were hand selected by Samantha’s dad in Hong Kong, as a gift to Samantha’s mother years ago.  I thought it was perfect that Samantha wore them as a way to remember her dear mother.  The gown was a beautiful Romona Keveza, light and sweet, and reflected Samantha’s personality perfectly.  Anne from Anne’s Alterations did some custom work on the gown, and even made her a custom corset, which was gorgeous!

The wedding on the Sun Deck was perfect!  The Rocky Mountains don’t need any decorations at all, so Dana at Glamorous Occasions decided to emphasis the scenery with garden chairs, small hand tied bundles of peonies and stock and a beautiful white runner for the bride to walk upon.   The reception at The Aspen Mountain Club was flocked with gorgeous champagne linen and romantic candles.  We loved her candle tower and the peony centerpieces, so elegant and refined.  At the reception, the bride’s father gave a speech that had us all in tears.  To be surrounded by so much love was pretty overwhelming.  Thank you Samantha and Stephen for choosing us as your photographers.  We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!  ~ Melissa and Kristen
