Alicia and Max were married at the Nordic Center, one of our favorites outdoor venues for a wedding in Flagstaff. It really boasts some spectacular scenery for a wedding, with the meadow carpeted with wildflowers and the ceremony site surrounded by an enchanted aspen grove. When we first met this sweet couple, we found out Alicia was a veterinarian at Continental Animal Wellness Center here in Flagstaff and planned to incorporate her client’s horses in the wedding. And oh, where they spectacular! We’ll never forget pulling into the Nordic Center parking lot and being greeted by two these majestic creatures, Major and Tyson, in full celebration costume, pulling the most fairytale like carriage we’ve ever seen at a wedding. (I suspect the owners, Paul and Terry, are going to get a few requests for this again!) However, it turned out that Tyson had a taste for calla lilies, and we almost lost the bridal bouquet to him when he tried to eat it! We also learned the evening of the wedding, from a heartfelt speech from Alicia’s father, that her first word was “horse”, and her love for these sweet animals is what led her into a career in veterinarian science.
After the beautiful ceremony led by Jim Dorman, minister at Christ Church of Flagstaff, we got to go to a remote meadow and aspen grove to take some more photos of the wedding party and Alicia and Max. Everyone was so wonderful to work with, and kept us laughing with their lightheartedness and jokes. The day went by so quickly and we were so blessed to have been able to be there. Congrats Alicia and Max! ~ Melissa
